Comment: The day I agreed to take on the Affiliate Program Manager position at the company I worked for, I realized that I had some learning to do. I quickly found a bunch of different resources online that pointed me to this book. It is a quick read. Took me three evenings without dedicating too much time to it. I feel I was able to soak in a ton. Geno's book really motivated me to immerse myself in the biz. I think it will do the same for you. But such is the case with "A Practical Guide to Affiliate Marketing". Upon recently launching our affiliate program I began researching the topic so that at least I might avoid making some "newbie" mistakes. I met Geno through a popular affiliate forum and he was kind enough to send me a copy of his book. Once I began reading, I knew that this book was exactly what I needed. The book, in plain and simple english, covers all of the pitfalls, opportunities, and provides sound advice, obviously based on Geno's years of experience. It does so in a format that makes it a great point of reference long after you read through it and a must have for any affilliate manager, merchant, or anyone who wants to understand the affiliate marketplace. Customer Rating: Summary: A very informative and helpful read Comment: I bought this book to help me learn the role of my job better as a manager for a web based business and had no idea where to start. This book was very helpful by answering questions that I had as well as giving me ideas. I would almost take it as an Affiliate Marketing for Dummies course!! The best thing about this book in my opinion was that the context and verbiage is very easy to understand and follow, no super artsy intllectual sentances to break down. It is a straight forward read and the author does his best to explain everything in a mannerism that anybody can follow. Comment: I have been involved in affiliate marketing for nearly nine years I am always interested in learning more about the dynamics of this business. I don't consider myself a "Super Affiliate" but do earn in the six-figure range. I do not aspire to be an Affiliate Manager (AM), an Outsourced Program Manager (OPM), or a Merchant, but I do believe that knowing more about those aspects of the business will make be better at what it is that I do. Geno's book, fulfilled my expectations. I was able to see what is being recommended to AMs, OPMs and Merchants to help them run their programs more effectively and efficiently. More effective operations will make the affiliate marketing channel more productive for all concerned.
