Use the Logitech VX Revolution alloy scroll wheel to breeze through long documents at warp speed with the nearly frictionless alloy scroll wheel. Shift to precise click-to-click scrolling to navigate lists, slides, and image collections. A high-resolution sensor inside this mouse makes it the most sensitive, highest performing mouse on the market. The precision laser tracking works on almost any surface. The Logitech VX Revolution uses advanced technology to detect your current application and automatically apply the scrolling mode that best fits the task at hand. Two conveniently located side buttons let you easily move forward and back through pages on the Internet. The mouse also moves effortlessly between documents. It's never been easier to cut and paste between applications, compare documents, or check e-mail. Highlight a word or phrase and click the Search button to display results from a search engine immediately. Compact design with storable USB micro-receiver allows for easy transport. Enjoy wireless freedom with 2.4 GHz digital cordless connection. Zoom in and out of photos, spreadsheets and documents with ease.

Customer Rating: Summary: Great... disappointment Comment: I own this mouse for two years now and I don't like it for bunch of reasons:
* Logitech SetPoint is a bloatware (mildly said), the software looks nice, but it is annoying (obtrusive battery warnings, keeps resetting programs list with all button assignments - I don't want separate settings for most of the programs (Outlook, IE), but those come back with every restart. Of course without the software you can only use one side button - the other one doesn't even get registered in Windows.
* If you can deal with the bloat, install SetPoint but definitely get UberOptions, because SetPoint won't allow you to set up many options to your liking - they call it market segmentation, but in fact Logitech driver is crippling your quite expensive mouse.
* Laser tracking is a misunderstanding in this model. It looses track even on fairly good surface like computer desk. This is very disappointing, since my old Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 had much better tracking even though it had half less DPI and less "advanced" sensor.
* MicroGear is nice, but underdeveloped feature - if you turn off scrollwheel "clicking" the mousewheel will slightly turn every once and then when you move your mouse - there could have been some inertial break or something to solve that issue.
* Zoom slider is too hard to zoom in (but okay for zoom out)
Now couple good things:
Mouse feels very well in hand. Rubber sides are much more durable than silicone.
Extremely energy efficient. Runs for months on single AA battery.
Side button placement and tactile feedback is excellent
Customer Rating: Summary: love it Comment: used daily for awhile now and no problems. and if I ever need to replace it , it will be the same one again!
Customer Rating: Summary: A great desktop mouse Comment: Don't think this is just for notebooks. It's a great size for normal desktop use, which is how I use mine. I just wore out my first version of this (after a couple of years use) and quickly bought the same thing. I have big manly hands (for a geek), and it's not too small for me. I actually think it's a bit on the large size for a notebook/netbook mouse. Most are smaller.
I doubt the ergonomics would be great for left-handed use, but for right handers, just fine. I only use a few of the programmable buttons, but it's nice that thay are there.
Battery life seems pretty good, maybe 6 months or so. And then when it is time to replace, it's only a single AA battery.
A bit pricey for a mouse, but having bought two of them, I think they are worth it.
Customer Rating: Summary: Logitech VX Revolution Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks Comment: This is my second piurchase of a VX Revolution for notebook. I also have the larger version of this product for my desktop.
Tne VX Revolution worked so well for me that I replaced my wifes microsoft cordless laser mouse with this current purchase. The microsoft mouse on my wifes desktop kept acting eratically whenever I would type or mouse on my desktop (both computers are in the same room). Needless to say she complained whenever I typed or moused, so microsoft had to get the boot.
VX Revolution's are excellent. Inserting the USB adapter into the mouse for stoprage shuts off popwer to the mouse as does long period of non movement. Batteries (last 2-3 months. Pointing, etc., are all standard for a good mouse. Laser works well and is acurate. I do not use any of the other buttons besides left/right click and wheel, but those do not get in my way. Requires no software installation for XP and Vista. Got the best price and delivery at Amazon.
Customer Rating: Summary: My favorite mouse Comment: I purchased this mouse more than one year ago and have used it with my desktop Mac. I have since learned that it has been discontinued, which saddens me because it is the best mouse I have ever used! Consequently, I purchased two additional mice - one for my MacBook Pro and one as a spare. As a student of interior design, I use CAD software on a daily basis and have found the programmable buttons a tremendous help for creating my drawings. I did use SteerMouse to configure the buttons for this application (AutoDesk's fault, not Logitech's), but I have had no problems since installation. This is by far the most comfortable mouse I have ever used for my small hands.
After reading others' reviews, I have a few suggestions:
1. READ the instructions! Many of the reviewers' problems might have been solved by simply obtaining and installing the correct drivers.
2. DON'T drop your mouse! I don't understand why you would subject such an investment to repeated abuse. For the record, I take care to avoid dropping my cell phone or sunglasses also.
3. Keep your mouse clean! I have found that the occasional "twitches" are usually caused by dust or cat hair on the lens of the mouse. Once I remove the dust, my problem is solved.
4. Turn the mouse off whenever you're not using it and use batteries intended for high-tech devices. Longer battery life (mine lasts about 6 weeks at a time) equals less hassle, less expense, and fewer batteries in a landfill!
