Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: Works in my Steam room! Comment: Bought this phone to add onto my existing Uniden 5.8 phone system. The Uniden website said this was a compatible phone to my existing system. I was looking for a phone to survive in the humid environment of my shower & possibly my steam room. (Don't have a pool!) Plus I don't talk on the phone when I am in the Jacuzzi!!! Forgetaboutit! Happy to say that it works fine for the times that I need it. It is THICKER then the regular phones already in my 5.8 system; and it has its own base which requires a telephone line connection to its base. This phone then became my Bed/Bath #1-phone (in my phone registry) as it is too big to register in the base of the my existing system. to add phones I must now register with this phone. Not register this phone to my existing system which has my answering system and other 6 phones. This is my only regret with this phone besides requiring a phone line to its base. So when you have Direct link or monitoring or paging , you must return to the base of this unit, not the base of your existing 5.8 phone system. Kind of hard to remember in a 4,000 sq ft house. Customer Rating: Summary: extremely short battery life Comment: Within the last month I purchased a new cordless phone, model WX1477. It has never gotten wet. It has never even been close to being wet. I find the length of the battery life to be extremely poor (less than 3 days). My previous cordless, a Panasonic, could go for two (2) weeks without having to worry about returning it to its charging cradle. All the other features of this phone are great. It looks gorgeous. The speakerphone is louder than my Panasonic was. But keeping this Uniden in the charge cradle is a real drag. A less-than-average cordless. Customer Rating: Summary: My second one Comment: This phone is great. I have thrown my other phone over 50 feet onto concrete and it still works perfectly. I bought this one because I have 2 lines at my car shop. Customer Rating: Summary: uniden water-proof phone Comment: This product meets expectations. I have not submerged it in water but it has great reception and I am very happy with all of the features, i.e. phone book that allows you to enter numbers, bring them up, and dial. Customer Rating: Summary: Uniden Waterproof Phone Comment: Range is weaker then most cordless phones. Sounds a little like you are under water at times.
