Summary: AT&T 1856 speakerphone
Comment: The phone has one big drawback and that is the speaker phone breaks up the person speaking so that you have to ask them to repeat many times what they are saying. I bought this item in hopes the speaker phone would be an improvement over other models I tried but no such luck. Will have to write to the manufacturer to see if this is a defect or something that has been happening all along. Very disappointed.

Summary: A Huge Bargain
Comment: I love this phone! I have it wall-mounted, so easy to install and so convenient to use. The sound quality of the outgoing message is excellent, no distortion whatsoever. The volume control is amazing, the best I've ever experienced. The answering-machine features are easy to use. There is probably no better phone of this kind on the market, but there are plenty that are far more expensive.

Comment: This phone is great especially the speaker as that's why I bought another one for a friend for. Using the speaker works where U can speak and others can hear U. A good phone AT&T.

Summary: Can't read the display!!
Comment: No backlight makes it nearly impossible to read the caller's phone number or ID. All the other features are nice but, this one, overlooked feature renders this phone terribly inadequate for me. The picture you'll see on the advertisement makes it look like the numbers are easy to see but, believe me, it isn't anywhere near as clear as the picture! I can scarcely read it with the light on in the room. Ironically, the answer machine button is a very bright, red glow!
