JOE Thomas, New Man, is one of the most anticipated R&B releases of 2008. Collaborating with music industries top and newest hot producers and songwriters D Mile (Janet Jackson, Feedback), Bryan Michael Cox, Stereotypes and Rodney Jerkins to name a few, this album truly lives up to it s title, JOE Thomas, New Man.. The album includes 11 incredible cuts from JOE and 5 song snippets from the next album, Signature scheduled to release on February 10, 2009 just in time for Valentine s Day (a brand new album of all new & original ballads written, produced, arranged and performed by JOE)

Customer Rating: Summary: One of Joe's Best Albums to Date Comment: I was surprised to see the considerably mixed reviews of this CD, as I find it to be one of Joe's most well-rounded and consistent releases to date. With the help of able songwriters like Bryan Michael Cox and gifted producers such as the Stereotypes and Jerry "Fatz" Flowers, Mr. Thomas has crafted a smooth set that far surpasses the overly trend-conscious tendencies of his last album, 2007's AIN'T NOTHIN' LIKE ME.
JOE THOMAS, NEW MAN pleases both my mellow side and my groove cravings. In particular, the uptempo titletrack ("New Man") expertly blends Joe's signature R&B crooning with a pop-friendly arrangement that is catchy yet just a little understated. Staying true to his classic line of ballads, "E.R. (Emergency Room)," "By Any Means," and "Start over Again" all satiate with sturdy melodies, flowing riffs, and solid rhythmic structures.
If you're looking for the classic Joe that was missing from AIN"T NOTHIN" LIKE ME, with just enough new flava to keep it fresh, then check out JOE THOMAS, NEW MAN. Note also that this CD contains five excerpts from the singer's upcoming SIGNATURE album of all ballads. These snippets suggest that we will soon have another great Joe album on our hands!
Customer Rating: Summary: Never Disappoints Comment: Joe always produces such great music and I never miss the opportunity to hear him sing. May he have anymore great years.
Customer Rating: Summary: JoeThomas Comment: This latest Joe album is the latest of many albums. Joe continues to create great music and lyrics as his career lingers. I was fully satisfied with album and will continue to support him. I also saw Joe in concert at the 98.7 kiss fm xmas spectaculiar in 02. The crowd went wild for him and he is truely loved.
Customer Rating: Summary: joeeeeeeeeeeeee why some many snippets Comment: lovely written but wish that the album didn't have such great snippets that were great potential songs!
Customer Rating: Summary: Joe - New Man Comment: I am a huge Joe fan. And this album is definetly better than the very weak Ain't Nothing Like Me, but that album was terrible, this one is just average. New Man still is nowhere close to My Name Is Joe, or All That I Am, but its still alot better than Better Days, and it soars over the previously mentioned Ain't Nothing Like Me. The biggest problem with Joe as of lately is that hes not doing any baby makers anymore, and thats what he was best at. His vocals are still in tip top shape with his buttery smooth voice. But many times on this album he sounds uninspired, and weak. Like on the would have been banger "We Need To Roll", if Joe would have soaked this song with his smooth vocals better it would have been a classic track, but instead he comes off weak on this track. There are still some great tracks, like the banger "Man In Your Life" where he actually sings well, and the smooth and relaxed break up song "By Any Means". And then the album closer "Chameleon" is a vintage Joe song with its mid tempo ballad feel, it reminds me alot of "Faded Pictures". But other than those songs, the rest of the album is filler. I think Joe is reaching the end, because this is his second album in a row with out a hit single and the albums sales fell off pretty bad after the first week. Joe still has the potential to put together a good album, but now that hes not on Jive anymore, he wont be getting as much promotion and he wont have the same A-List producers that he had on Jive. Like i said, New Man isnt bad, but it has its shining moments, but compared to some of his previous work, this is pretty mediocre.
