Summary: Great Music Discovery. Clever.
Comment: I say that this is a clever mix of tracks in that it a) introduced me to great new music, b) totally set the tone for the movie and c) fit into the movie where it'd least expect it.

As I've read in other reviews, a lot of customers are confused, saying the Iron & Wine song is out of place, yet that the whole soundtrack doesn't ring purely to the Edward & Isabella romance. Yet, the very ending scene with them at prom night IS! Iron & Wine's Flightless Bird, American Mouth!

Other great tracks worth noting:
- The Black Ghosts' Full Moon. Trance, acoustic, played during the intro/ Bella's trip from Arizona to Forks. Completely addictive. I play this everyday since I've watched Twilight. Ambient feel with lyrics/melody.

- Perry Farrell's Going All The Way [Into The Twilight], the dance beat number that played during the prom scene. A little bit far on the poppy side, but definitely fit for the scene; it replays in my mind every time it comes on.

- Supermassive Black Hole by Muse, featured during the intense baseball scene. Really got me pumped, and Muse always delivers.

- The ending credit songs: 15 Step by Radiohead (although obviously not to be featured on the album on account it's, hey, Radiohead), Decode by Paramore, and Linkin Park's Leave Out All The Rest.

- Also... Rob Pattinson, whose featured song 'Never Think' is on the Twilight soundtrack is gorgeous. Ladies, he models, acts, AND is a musician. His song is a beautiful acoustic melody, emotional in every word, down to the deep chortles of his soft, romantic voice; completely surprising. I find myself imagining our EDWARD Cullen sing in such a mature and alluring way! Unbelievable. Definitely a folk song.

Twilight is definitely a generational steeple in teen flicks, with a soundtrack to match the times. It's soundtrack helped expose me to a lot of great artists (whose songs from the soundtrack are, without a doubt, on my profile playlist on MySpace).

I'd say it's worth checking out the songs you like from the soundtrack on an online playlist such as [...], Music and getting a feel for/play them there; save some money like me. Or, if you wanna support this film and the economy, purchase it. However, everyone I know's getting this soundtrack that I doubt it'll be hard to rip it off someone; let's be real. And, it being of various artists, I'd definitely encourage it. It is a great pop soundtrack, but if you only like a few of the songs, it can definitely turn into a hit & miss!

Summary: LOVE IT!!
Comment: Muse's "Supermassive Black Hole" rocks and was perfect for one of my favorite scenes from the movie...the baseball game! It has definitely introduced me to different genre's of music than I normally listen to and I love the diversity of the music. The more I listen to it, the more I love it. Of course, I'm a HUGE fan of the books and the movie itself. I'm a true Twilight Mom...what can I say :-)

Summary: Not Sure About the Movie, but the Soundtrack is a Winner
Comment: I've never read the books and wasn't as impressed as I'd expected to be with the movie, but the soundtrack is a gem.

The new Paramore track, "Caught Myself," is probably that band's best work to date. Mute Math, a smaller band that hasn't made many waves yet, turns in an amazing mix of their single "Spotlight." Some of the less bombastic tracks, such as the Iron and Wine song, are simply beautiful.

Not all of the material here is new--Muse's "Supermassive Black Hole," for instance, and Linkin Park's "Leave Out All the Rest," are previously released tracks. (The Radiohead track that plays over the credits, "15 Step," isn't included on this album.)

If you like "Bella's Lullaby" by Carter Burwell, definitely check out the full-length score and his past work, notably the Fur soundtrack.

Summary: Love this soundtrack!
Comment: I really enjoyed this movie & the soundtrack is excellent. I couldn't wait to buy this cd. There's lots of great songs on it, my absolute favorite is 'Go All the Way' by Perry Farrell - I'm playing it over & over again...I also love 'Tremble for my Beloved' by Collective Soul (been a fan of theirs since their very first album), I love 'Supermassive Black Hole' by Muse, and a delightful surprise is the songs by Rob Pattinson (Twilight's sexy vampire lead) - 'Never Think' & 'Let Me Sign' - he has a fantastic voice & a wonderful musicality. I look very forward to hearing more of his music. I highly recommend the soundtrack, it's got a great variety of songs, I love pretty much all of them, and it's a cd that you can listen to over & over again...

Summary: See The Movie First
Comment: When I first got this for my birthday four days before I went to see the movie, I was disappointed. The music didn't seem to fit. I didn't care for any of it at all really. Then I went to see the movie, and the music fell right into place with each scene. I went home and listened to the soundtrack again, this time with images of the movie scenes in mind, and I loved it. I read on here that a lot of people didn't like the music choices, because the music should be a lot of slow and romantic stuff, and that's exactly how I felt. I still think Crush by David Archuleta and Love Story by Taylor Swift should have been in there somewhere, but hey, there's three other movies and plenty of time for other music choices. But so far, they're on the right track. But seriously, before you judge the soundtrack, see the movie. It makes a huge difference, believe me.
