Summary: BEWARE! Player is ok, but lacks some standard features
Comment: The player itself is ok, if you just want a portable player, but if you want to do much else be ready for aggravation. First off, the Zune will not be recognized as an external Hard Drive (there is a hack that half way works), nor can you play music off the zune on your computer through the Zune software. These things are so standard with other players, that I didn't even consider that these features would be unavailable. The Zune software is horrible, and irreplaceable as far as I've found. When attaching the zune to your computer the player automatically syncs to folders on your hard drive, and if you've removed files, those same files will be deleted from the Zune. You can configure the Zune to manually sync, but I've been unable to get this thing to only add or update files when syncing. Setting to manual also renders the wireless syncing useless. This player doesn't give you much choice in video formats (wmv, mp4), so if you have avis or mpgs, you'll have to convert them. There is also no EQ, but I haven't found that to be a big deal yet.

On the bright side, I have no complaints about the sound and the video does look good. I've also connected the Zune to my TV and the sound and video is still pretty good. The aesthetics are fairly decent and, once you get used to the thumb pad, the controls work well.

I haven't used the 'social' functions of the player, nor have I used the download services, so I can't really speak to these.

If you just want a portable player at a good price, then consider the zune, otherwise stick to the iPod or another brand.

Comment: I have owned 3 ipods (still have my ipod 30gb) and was going to purchase a new ipod mainly to take adavantage of their genius software. But I decided to try the Zune. The software for zune takes some getting used to, but it's not bad.
I love my Zune! I love the screen size. It sounds great. I love the wireless sync! It syncs when its in my bedroom on the ihome clock radio without me even realizing it. I'm at the computer downloading songs. I go back to the bedroom and the songs are already on the zune.

I love the zune pass at $15 a month. You get to keep 10 songs a month! I love being able to listen to whole songs, whole albums before downloading or not downloading. No more 30 second clips. I have discovered much more music I never would have because of this. I spent this much a month at itunes for one and half artist and now I have tons of artists.

The one thing I don't like is the plastic back but that is my minor complaint. Other than that, I am very happy with my Zune!

Comment: This is the 2nd Zune I own. I have IPods and other MP3, but Zune beats them all. I have never filled my 30gb completely and am using the 120 gb for documents and important information. This is fantastic and I appreciated the swift shipping.

Comment: This is my first Zune or MP3 player. I really like this player because it is easy to use, download, and view. The Microsoft marketplace is a great site for finding videos, music and podcast. The podcast selection could be a little better but I think in time it should broaden.
